Two posts in one day. Woah. We're getting crazy. But I just had to get this out there. If you have a missionary, you have probably experienced this same conversation.
"So I hear you're waiting for a missionary??"
-Person you don't care about
"Yep! ____ months down!"
"Two years is a LONG time. A lot can happen. You know that, right? You should definitely be dating and not JUST writing your missionary."
-Person who should mind their own business
WHO ASKED YOU?!
I mean seriously. You have no idea what you're talking about. No one asked for your advice so don't give it. Because frankly, I don't want it. I don't need it. I know it's crazy that I'm waiting for a boy for 2 whole years. I know that there is a slight chance its not going to work out. But guess what? He's my best friend. And I'm not about to give up on him right when he needs me most. So just turn around and walk away. Taylor Swift explains it perfectly in her new song, "Ours".

Hey, Alison! This is Vanessa Seamons from high school :) I know I don't know you personally, but I stumbled upon your blog and was reading a bit. I know EXACTLY how you feel! I'm waiting for a missionary myself... remember Niall Stoddard from high school? Yeah, that one :) You and Nic are so adorable together! Ha I remember going to elementary school with him... he's such a great kid :) Good luck with everything! We can do this! 2 years isn't so long, right? I just wish people would keep their thoughts to themselves. It's very frustrating sometimes and I feel like no one understands the situation. You should join the facebook group "Waiting for a missionary!" It's way awesome and there's a TON of girls going through the same thing and they're a huge support. Anyways, I wish you all the best :) Just stay busy! That's the thing that's helped me the most. We can do this :)
